All week on prTini, I’ve shared lists of resources — blogging, Facebook for business, collaboration, e-newsletters — but I haven’t talked about people. Yet. As a small business owner, I know that the team I work with is hugely important to my company’s success … and our clients’ success. There is no better, or more important, resource than people! And, so, capping off resources week here on the blog, I give you two internal-communication-focused articles:
- Hey, boss, stop encouraging me to work elsewhere — From Ari B. Adler: “Workers are communicating with each other and realizing there are opportunities for something better somewhere else. These workers are networking with managers and employees at other companies and being stolen away, taking their company knowledge, their experience and their training with them. It doesn’t have to be this way. But too many organizations are ignoring one of their greatest investments and resources because they simply refuse to engage with their employees.”
- More than 80 Strategies to Motivate Your Employees — From Carol Roth: “Employees can make or break your business. So, how do you keep them motivated to do their very best?”
Let’s discuss: If you own a business, how are you building a productive culture? If you’re an employee, how can businesses improve internal communication and company culture? What works? What doesn’t? How can we incorporate technology to update “old-school” ideas?
