Last year, around this time, my husband and I launched #WhyWeCelebrate — an idea that evolved into a social-media driven movement that encouraged people to take a minute to honor the military in the midst of Independence Day fireworks and barbecues. Some of you have been asking what we’re planning to do this year. We’re excited to share some details:
- The “campaign unveil” will happen later this week, but in the meantime, let’s drum up as much interest as possible! To do that, just enter your email address here: www.whywecelebrate.com. You’ll receive a URL to distribute on Facebook, Twitter, email, carrier pigeon … whatever you think will help attract the most interest. 🙂
- The people who recruit the most sign-ups will be among the first to hear the official campaign details — and how they can participate in the movement this weekend. (Translation: Go sign up now and recruit other people. Then, you’ll get all the fun details before everyone else!)
If you’ve got a second, we’d love if you’d tweet about the campaign! (Tweet early, tweet often, right?!) A couple suggestions to make it easy for you:
- Want to help honor the troops this weekend? Be part of #WhyWeCelebrate. Details: http://bit.ly/WhyWeCelebrate
- Thankful for July 4th fireworks & BBQs? Let’s remember #WhyWeCelebrate. Join me: http://bit.ly/WhyWeCelebrate
Of course, feel free to share all this info on your other favorite social networks. We’ll post more info on the Facebook page and Twitter in the coming days, so stay tuned. In the meantime THANK YOU for your ongoing support. The effort was incredible last year, and we’re so excited to see what happens this year!
So, who’s in?
