Geben Communication is in growth mode and looking to add a proactive, smart, talented PR person to the team. We’re seeking someone with 1-3 years experience who can work ~25 hours a week, with the potential to grow into a full-time position in the future. The person will implement public relations and social media strategies for a variety of local and national accounts, ranging from start-ups and nonprofits … to national B2B and B2c businesses. Applicants must have completed at least one a public relations internship and/or have prior relevant PR experience. Agency experience is desired, but not required. The position in based in Columbus, so preference will be given to applicants living in Central Ohio; however, the right candidate could potentially fulfill the job in a virtual work environment.
What we’re looking for:
- Fundamentals — We need someone who understands the foundation of solid public relations: strong writing, attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid track record in securing targeted media placements in a range of outlets. Additionally, we want someone who can effectively communicate, manage expectations and implement integrated PR strategies.
- Forward-thinking — Many Geben clients seek a mix of traditional and online PR. As a result, applicants need to demonstrate familiarity with key online networks and tools, as well as an ability to effectively use social media to build community and achieve business goals. Bonus points for candidates who can successfully navigate WordPress and/or have a basic understanding of HTML.
