You Know What They Say about Assumptions: PR + Journalists Edition

Journalists hate when PR people call them … unless they don’t.

PR people mostly annoy journalists … unless they’re helping them.

Cision’s 2013 Social Journalism Study is full of interesting insights — some of which run contrary to popular beliefs. For example, more journalists prefer contact from a PR rep via phone (33%) than social media (25%). But, both communication methods fall far short of email, journalists’ most preferred channel. (Though journalists are open to more social contact.) At the same time, PR people are the second most popular information source when journalists are sourcing a story.
