Vote for the “Geben Gives” Winner

by Heather Whaling

It’s time to vote for the winner of Geben Gives! Each organization does amazing work — and I can’t wait to see which one you choose for me to work with! During the month of December, I’ll donate my time — my PR, marketing or social media services — to the winner. The poll closes on November 30.

The five finalists are:

  • CaringBridge provides free, personalized websites to families and friends during a serious health event. They make it easier to share health updates and receive messages of support.
  • Camps for Kids helps ensure that no Kansas City youngster is denied the benefits of summer camp due to disability or low income. Quality camp programs drive positive identity, social skills, physical and thinking skills, and positive values and spirituality.
  • Epic Change believes people’s stories are assets that can be used as resources to improve their lives. They help people in need share their “epic” true stories in innovative, creative and profitable ways to help them acquire the financial resources they need to create positive “change” in their communities.
  • Project on Justice in Times of Transition brings together leaders from around the world to help build trust between enemies in some of the most violent conflicts of recent years. They have helped clear the path for progress in peace talks, transition to democracy and national reconciliation.
  • Remote Area Medical is a volunteer, airborne relief corps that provides free health care, dental care, eye care, veterinary services, and technical and educational assistance to people in remote areas of the United States and the world.

Heather, I think what you're doing is wonderful. Each of these organizations is doing great work, and each is worthy of a little extra help. Terrific job!

What great organizations doing great work! And, what a great idea for Geben Gives!

I checked each finalist's website. Some of them already have national recognitions, press coverage, etc. This narrowed down my choice to CaringBridge and Camps for Kids. In the end, I think that making a difference in a child's life can change the future. Camps for Kids got my vote, but I will also write a Sunday Service post about CaringBridge on BeingFullyPresent.com.

Keep up the great work!
