One of my New Year’s Resolutions for this year was to read more. Specifically, I want to read at least two non-work-related books a month (surprisingly, easier to do than I thought it would be!), as well as more trend research and general news consumption through magazines, online news sites, etc. To hold me accountable, and to share some of the best of what I’ve read, I’ll publish a monthly roundup of what I found interesting the previous month. So, here’s what I’ve been reading of late:
Good Books
- Going to Peaces Without Falling Apart
- My Father’s Wives
- The Outside Man
- 10% Happier: How I Tamed the Voice in My House, Reduced Stress without Losing My Edge, and Found Self-Help that Actually Works
Good Knowledge
- Which Stock Photos Convert Best?
- A Highlighter for Marking Up Whatever You Want Online
- How Break-out Ecommerce Companies Outperform Peers by 10x
Good PR/Marketing
- Google Drops Android Wear Ad Minutes before Apple Watch Event
- MySpace: What Went Wrong (I know this isn’t really “good” PR per se, but assessing failures can help inform efforts going forward, so it’s still a worthwhile read!)
- The Salvation Army Uses “The Dress” to Make a Point About Domestic Violence
I’m always looking for new books to read. Read something you loved lately? Don’t keep it a secret. Share, share, share!
