HAPPO Guest: Meghann Heft

As we celebrate HAPPO today — and we roll up our sleeves to help some of the bright young students connect with future employers — I’m especially excited to share this post from Meghann Heft with you. After emailing and Skype-ing with Meghann, I’m confident that she’ll be a productive, valuable team member wherever she lands. Take a few minute to get to know Meghann …

The last four years of my life have been full of new experiences, new friends and new challenges. My undergraduate years have helped me to realize my passion for public relations, as well as discover the woman I am called to be. I am a hardworking woman who is fiercely passionate and loyal to her profession, her organizations, her family and her friends.

Through my internships, I’ve learned that small groups of people can make big things happen, and sometimes even relationships that seem great at the beginning need fostering and attention to succeed. I know even the most organized PR person can have her day drastically changed by a big announcement or unexpected event, and I’ve learned the importance of being able to roll with the punches. Get up, dust off and try again tomorrow. Always strive for the best, and make the best of what you have.

I know that graduating from college this Sunday will not mark the end of my learning, but rather a new beginning and a new chapter in life. I’m ready to work with PR professionals who will help my skills reach the next level, and I’m eager to serve as part of a PR team that is making a difference in our world.
