You Ask, Outback’s Social Media Team Answers [Giveaway!]

The midwest is freezing in January, so two weeks of college football bowl games is always a welcome reason to stay inside, create a divot in the couch’s prime viewing location, and chow down on game-time munchies.

This week is a little different though. I’m writing this from a hotel in to Tampa, FL, home of the Outback Bowl. I’ll be spending the rest of this week with Outback Restaurant’s social media team as a social media “correspondent” of sorts — sharing behind-the-scenes photos and videos of the bowl experience. Some of the highlights?

Eating at the original Outback, hitting the bowling ally with the Georgia and Michigan State players, spending the day at the beach with the teams, and attending a gala and the parade. Oh, and not to mention the game, of course!

Win an Outback Gift Certificate

But, it’s not just fun for me! Outback has offered five $45 gift certificates for me to giveaway to my blog readers and/or Twitter followers. Craving a Bloomin’ Onion? Just leave a comment with a question for Outback’s social media team. Want to know how they manage so many locations? Want to know how they got buy-in from management? Whatever your question is, let’s hear it. My five favorite questions will each receive a gift certificate, and I’ll get the answers from Outback for you.

While in Tampa, I’ll be sharing updates on Twitter (@prTini) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/gebencommunication), as well as Instagram and Tout (heatherwhaling on both networks). I want to show you all the fun and festivities, but I’m also looking forward to learning about Outback’s approach to social media. (I already know they’re fans of using “surprise and delight” to bridge the digital divide!). I hope you’ll follow along with my Outback Bowl Experience, and feel free to connect with Outback on Twitter or Facebook.

More updates to come soon …
