Very appropriate commentary. On the one hand, most 17 year olds are not emotionally equipped to properly raise a child. Hopefully, Bristol will get an enormous amount of family support and commitment from her soon-to-be husband. On the other hand, there is opportunity to look at the broader picture that Palin will paint as vice president. Not so much how she has raised HER children, but what programs will she/won't she advocate nationally because of her personal beliefs? She has had numerous challenges is raising her children; parenting is a form of leadership. What can we learn about Palin the VP candidate from Palin the Mom? And, let's not forget Palin the governor...now she has hired an attorney to assist her through hearings about her request to have her former brother-in-law fired. Lastly, at the end of the day, what does all of this say about McCain's judgement? He thinks she is what a vice president should be. Really?
