One of my best friends will be heading to Afghanistan on July 25 with the State Department's diplomatic core. I will be praying for his safety, just as I pray for that of our service men and women. Every day we should take a moment to say a prayer of thanks for the sacrifices others have made so that we can live the lives we do. From the 56 men who signed their names and their death warrants on the Declaration of Independence in 1776 to those men and women who put on the uniform of the U.S. Military, each have done and are doing something truly remarkable.
